Part 2: From Panama to Bali

Cruises in the Pacific, the Coral Sea, Torres Strait, the Arafura Sea and the Java Sea

We sail from Panama to the Galapagos, French Polynesia, Melanesia, Australia and end up in Indonesia. We have to visit many Pacific islands and enjoy the beautiful scenic places. Below you see our planned cruises.

The specified schedule is approximate and you must be flexible and able to withstand changes in it. The starting time is planned as the departure time and you must arrive earlier to participate in the shopping, planning and preparation of the boat.

Cruise 7 – (14 January 2023 – 14 March 2023)

Through the Panama Canal to Marquesas

We prepare for the trip to Galapagos and make sure the bottom of the boat is completely clean and maybe freshly painted with new anti-fouling. Then we sail from Shelter Bay near Colon through the Panama Canal to Balboa next to Panama City. We need 4 line-handlers in addition to the skipper and one pilot official. We have to prepare and cook some good and non vegetarian food for the pilot. In Balboa, the boat has to be gassed and we wait for a good weather window to set sail.

Crew: Sanne, Per, Mette, Kirsten og Jeppe

Cruise 8 – (18 March 2023 – 5 April 2023)

Sailing around the Marquesas islands

We visit the different islands and the good anchorages. We dive and enjoy life. This trip is mostly for family and friends as well as participants in Cruise 7 or 9

Vacant crew positions: 0 – Family
Crew: Merete, Per, Mette, Kirsten og Jeppe

Cruise 9 – (11 April 2023 – 10 May 2023)

Marquesas – Tuamoto atolls – Tahiti

We sail from the Marquesas to the Tuamoto Atolls, where we plan to visit the Kauehi and Fakarava Atolls to look at pearl farms and experience atolls where only the surrounding coral reef is left, while the “volcano island” has sunk. Then we sail to Tahiti, where rules have changed and we don’t have to sail directly to Papeete to clear customs – it can now be done in the Marquesas. Therefore we enjoy a few of the many anchorages within Tahiti’s ring reef.

Vacant crew positions: 0 – we are not ready yet.
Crew: Merete, Per, Mette, Kirsten og Jeppe

Cruise 10 – (17 May 2023 – 8 July 2023)

Tahiti – Fiji

From Tahiti which is a “windward island” among the Society Islands, we set sail for one of the other Society Islands, Bora Bora. Then we continue past the Cook Islands and maybe make a visit to Palmerstone Island if the waves are not too big waves at the anchorage. Then we set sail for Niue, Tonga and arrive in eastern Fiji, but sail on the west side of Fiji.

Vacant crew positions: 0
Crew: Merete, Per, Mette, Kirsten og Jeppe

Cruise 11 – (13 Juli 2023 – 15 October 2023)

Fiji – Bali

From Fiji, we set sail westward and visit several islands in the island kingdom of Vanuatu. First, we arrive at the island of Tanna, which has a small active volcano that we hope to be able to visit by night. We continue north and visit one or two of the other islands of Vanuatu. Sails are then set for a long stretch across the Coral Sea to Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. The trip continues to through Torres Strait and perhaps to Thursday Island and Darwin in Australia or to a pearl chain of Indonesian islands. Alas, we continue towards Bali in Indonesia. This is a long exciting cruise of 3 months with good airports and flight connections to and from both Fiji and Bali.

Vacant crew positions: 0
Crew: Tine, Lars, Kirsten og Jeppe
